Yellowstone – Part 3

Saturday, September 9

Today I drive north to Mammoth Hot Springs.  The mineral deposits from the springs looks like snow!

The Roosevelt Arch is located at the Mammoth entrance to the Park.

Today I visit the Norris Geyser basin which is a mile from the campground.

From there, I drive to Canyon Junction and the north rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.  Some of the trail sections as well as Inspiration Point are closed on the north rim also.  There are still several nice overlooks of the river and the falls.

Today is my last day in Yellowstone National Park.  This is a huge park, I’ve been logging over 100 miles a day.  I’ve been able to see a lot and have enjoyed my six days here.  With the crowds and difficulty in getting a good campsite, it will probably be awhile before I return.
