Wednesday, September 14 cont’d I plan to stay two nights at Devils Tower National Monument. My next stop is Rapid City, SD on Sept 16, and I’m only a few hours drive from there. I drive up to the visitors center. After looking at the exhibits, I walk the trail that circumnavigates the Tower. It’s only about a mile and half so I take my time to enjoy the area.

Tuesday, September 12 On Monday I drive out the east entrance of Yellowstone to Cody, WY.  I’m not sure exactly where I’m headed.  In Cody I stop at the visitors center to get some info on the area. I decide to take a tour of the Big Horn Basin.

Saturday, September 9 Today I drive north to Mammoth Hot Springs.  The mineral deposits from the springs looks like snow!

Friday, September 8 Today I’m driving down to the Old Faithful area of the park.  Of course this is the one place everyone goes when visiting the park.  It was very busy!  Old Faithful was about to erupt as I arrive.

Tuesday, September 5 After filling fresh water tank and emptying gray and black tanks I head north to Yellowstone National Park.  I hope that I can drive the 125 miles to Norris Campground in time to get a site there.  This campground is first come first served, so I have a shot at it.

Monday, Sept 4, 2017 On Labor Day Monday I leave Granite Creek early and drive thru Jackson to Gros Ventre Campground in Grand Teton National Park. I had thought I would spend a couple days here.  But after my trip into town last Friday, when I saw how smoky it is, I decide to only stay one day.

Monday, Aug 30 to Sunday, Sept 3, 2017 It’s a nice sunny morning when I pull out of Craters of the Moon continuing east on Hwy 20 to Idaho Falls. I find a Fred Meyer grocery store where I shop and get gas. Continue east on Hwy 26 through the Swan Valley – a very pretty drive.
