October 18 I am ready to say goodbye to South Dakota and get back on the road. From Rapid City I drive back to Chatfield State Park in Denver area. I need to work on clearing out the small storage unit I have there. I had 8 boxes of books that I donated.
July 25 – 27, 2017 My appointment for the solar system install is for Friday, August 4th in California. This isn’t the optimum time of the year to travel across western Colorado, Utah and Nevada. Daytime temps were high 90s and even above 100. So I wanted to get across this area as quickly as I could and get to the Sierra Nevada Mountains where it would be cooler.
July 15 – 24, 2017 Buena Vista and the surrounding mountains have always been a favorite area. I have been there many times to backpack or hike the 14ers. So after finishing up in Denver, I decided to come back for a few days.
July 10 – 14, 2017 Since I was picking up my trailer in Grand Junction and wasn’t coming directly back to Denver Metro area, I had to put some stuff into a 10 x 10 storage unit. Monday morning, I left the festival grounds in Westcliffe and headed north on I-25 towards Denver.
July 6 – 9, 2017 I attended the High Mountain Hay Fever bluegrass festival in Westcliffe, CO for the first time in July of 2009 and fell in love with the festival and the lovely town of Westcliffe. Now it is a highlight of my summer and I eagerly anticipate festival time.
June 29 to July 6, 2017 Buena Vista The check in time at Snowy Peaks RV Park is 1pm. So when I drove on down to Buena Vista I went to the City Market grocery store and to the True Value hardware to do some shopping while trying to kill some time. June 28, 2017 Grand Junction to Buena Vista After completing the closing on the house on 6/27, Misty, my Maine Coon cat, and I headed to Grand Junction to spend the night. This was the first time Misty had stayed in a hotel. Due to alot of traffic up and down the hall all night long, she was very scared and kept me awake most of the night.
