At the end of January, I departed Portal, AZ and headed to Tucson. I had a long list of things I needed to do in the city – shopping, haircut, laundry, etc. I also did a couple hikes in Saguaro National Park. Saguaro NP is a real treasure right at the edge of the city with some beautiful hiking trails.

From Ajo, I head east on Hwy 86 to Tucson, which turns out to be a nice drive. There were some wildflowers in bloom along the way as well as some snow still remaining on the higher mountain peaks.

As the New Year approaches, I am still in Tucson. It has been nice to have a less hectic travel schedule. I’ve attended fiestas in the area, done some sightseeing, hiking and reading.

Thursday, November 1, I drive the 75 miles or so north to Tucson. Last year I was there only a short while. There is a lot to do in the area, and I’m looking forward to returning. On Tuesday, January 2nd, I arrived at the Snyder Hill BLM area on the west side of Tucson.  I had a couple items I wanted to take care of on the Nash and to do some sightseeing around the Tucson area.
