On to the Sierras!

July 28 – 30, 2017

Delta, UT to Fallon, NV

Hwy 50 from Delta, UT to Fallon, NV is named the Loneliest Road in the US.  It is 410 miles from Delta to Fallon, and there are only two towns – Ely and Eureka.  So the highway lives up to its name!  It is two lane blacktop with no shoulders mostly.  Only occasionally do you see other vehicles. From Colorado to Delta, UT

July 25 – 27, 2017

My appointment for the solar system install is for Friday, August 4th in California.  This isn’t the optimum time of the year to travel across western Colorado, Utah and Nevada.  Daytime temps were high 90s and even above 100.  So I wanted to get across this area as quickly as I could and get to the Sierra Nevada Mountains where it would be cooler. Back to Littleton, CO

July 10 – 14, 2017

A week in Buena Vista

June 29 to July 6, 2017

Buena Vista

The check in time at Snowy Peaks RV Park is 1pm.  So when I drove on down to Buena Vista I went to the City Market grocery store and to the True Value hardware to do some shopping while trying to kill some time.  When I finished it was still only 10am.  So I called the park to see if they might let me check in early.  My site was available and they were kind enough to give the okay for early check in.  With help from the wonderful staff I got backed into my site and all set up with no major events – yippee!! First night in my Nash 17k

June 28, 2017

Grand Junction to Buena Vista

After completing the closing on the house on 6/27, Misty, my Maine Coon cat, and I headed to Grand Junction to spend the night.  This was the first time Misty had stayed in a hotel.   Due to alot of traffic up and down the hall all night long, she was very scared and kept me awake most of the night.  Continue reading “First night in my Nash 17k”
